Adding the HPE Management Component Pack repository to RHEL based systems
Create the a new file in the /etc/yum.repos.d/ folder named mcp.repo using your favourite text editor. In the example below the text editor 'nano' is used.
The following lines would have to be added to this configuration file, but it has to be altered depending on your system.
name=Management Component Pack
dist centos, oracle, asianux
dist_ver 4, 4.x, 5, 5.x, 6, 6.x, 7, 7.x
arch i386, x86_64
project_ver current, 11.21, 11.05, 10.62, 10.50, 10.40, 10.20, 10.00, 9.30, 9.25, 9.10
If you are running the latest distribution version, for example, latest centos 7, 7 would suffice.
In case you are running a specific and older version, the full version should be clarified. (7.3 in case of centos 7.3)
Assuming you are using a 64bit operating system, which would almost always be the case, x64_64 would be the be chosen for the architecture.
For the project versions, it is almost always recommended to opt for the 'current' option unless you are running into issues.
As example, for centos 6 latest, this would the result in the following line,
To allow for your system to use a secure way of verifying the packages are from the correct source, a public key would have to be installed as below.
rpm --import http://downloads.linux.hpe.com/SDR/hpePublicKey2048_key1.pub
You may now install any of the packages using 'yum'.
yum install 'package name'
